We’ve posted quite a lot of work on our ESL website. Follow this link to find out what we’ve been doing.
In Year 7 we looked at an extract about the Oregon trail. Back when the Wild West was mean and cowboys and indians really existed, hundreds of families travelled across America to get to California where they hoped their dreams would come true. If you want to find out more about the Oregon trail, follow this link.
We imagined that we were on the trail – here is one of the letters we wrote home to try to persuade friends or family back to come and join us.
Year Ten are studying poetry in their English lessons this half term. We have spent time reading, analysing, writing and listening to poetry. One of our recent themes has been love poetry. Wendy Cope is one of my favourite poets. I really enjoy the way she presents love poetry- it’s different, but somehow very real. Follow the links to view two of her poems On a Train and Orange…..what do you think?
This week in English language we focused on the structure and use of the first and second conditionals. After some controlled practice, we tried to use the structures in a real-life context: as agony aunts. Find the solution to all your problems here …
Welcome to the new BSA Seniors English weblog. We’ll be posting work from Key Stage 3 and 4 here, so keep your eyes peeled!
